the circus came to town!

This weekend the circus came to town. So we of course had to go! My friend Diana, her husband and little girl, and a couple of Curtis' technicians came with us. Luckily is was a very overcast day because even without the sun it was HOT! We were all sweating but it will still a fun experience. Brooklynn and Jordan did a pony ride with their daddies, and fed the goats before the show. We even saw a pygmy hippo!

The actual show was pretty good. Brooklynn loved all the animals but the motorcycle on the rope made her very nervous. There was a contortionist that we super creepy to say the least. But everything else was pretty cool. The elephants were hilarious. After the show the elephants were outside swaying back and forth to the music! I loved it! It was just very hot! 

the pool is open!

The pool at our complex is FINALLY open! So of course all of us wives headed to the pool. Brooklynn really likes the pool. She had fun in her floaty thing for a while but then she wanted to run around the pool and it was stressing me out like crazy. So after I went to the store and I bought her a life jacket type thing so I don't feel so terrified about her walking around out there.

But it was so nice to get some sun! We will be going pretty much every day!

Also, I just found out that the Circus is in town this weekend! I think we might have to go! I can't remember the last time we went to the circus!! So excited!!

my thoughts on wichita falls, tx so far.

I have now been living in Wichita Falls, Texas for a little over a week. Six more weeks and we move to Ft. Worth. I'm going to be honest when I say.. I cannot wait to move.

I was not born to live in a small town. I know there are a LOT of people who love living in small towns but I am just not one of them! I don't know why I'm just not.

I need lots of things to do. LOTS. I need malls, and pools, and zoos, and children's museums, and regular grocery stores, and lots and lots of people. 

That's how I was raised. I grew up in Orange County, California where there are a LOT of people and that is how I like it.

Now here's the thing, the bugs in Texas are OUT OF CONTROL! I mean come on! Why do there have to be so many bugs? My husband constantly is making fun of me because I am always talking about them. They freak me out.

If I'm going to be dealing with all of these bugs. I want to be in a fun place. Like Ft. Worth of Dallas. Where there are lots of things taking up my attention other than the bugs.

ALSO, our apartment backs up to the freeway. No joke. You walk out the back door and it's about 15 feet until you're standing in the middle of the freeway.. with no fence..  um hello? how is my child supposed to play outside while at home? She absolutely doesn't get to. It would take her literally about 15 seconds to be on the freeway. AH just the thought stresses me out!!

Today I drove through Sonic to get a drink and as I'm waiting I see a girl squish a moth with her hand wipe it off and then grab my drink and hand it to me. I almost threw up a little. But I drank my diet coke because that's what addicts do. HA!

But anyway, I can deal for 6 weeks. I hope. I just very much look forward to moving to Ft. Worth!

making the choice.

I'm starting to get frustrated with myself. Frustrated at the fact that I have no self control. And as I realized after watching "the biggest loser" is that, saying you have no self control is just an excuse. Everyone has self control you just have to make the choice to use it. 

Now when I say I have no self control I mean in regards to what I eat. I love food. Junk food. And every day I wake up with complete confidence that I am going to start eating healthy. Then somehow every day I end up doing worse. 

I am determined today to make the change for real. No excuses. If I want to get back to how I was before I had Brooklynn, or close at least I need to make the choice to have the self control.

I really need to just not be lazy and search healthy recipes and actually cook for myself rather than giving in to mac n cheese even though it's delish! 

I want to be healthy. I want to be healthy for my family. Especially my little girl and my future children. I want to be around for a long time and I want to be energetic with them too. I don't want to feel tired after running around for a few minutes. I want to be involved. 

So I need to get healthy. Like I've wanted to for the past year and a half.

I need to make the choice.

The Last Thing I...

ATE: these amazing cinnamon muffins that I made. So yummy!!

Bought: Groceries from the store. I am there daily now that I have a child.. seems like there is always something that I forgot or something that she needs.

Watched on TV: Jane by Design. This show is super cute and I just started watching it. I love it for real.

Movie I watched: Like Crazy. It was cute but the ending make me really mad and unsatisfied. ah! still upset about it!

Got Frustrated at: Brooklynn refusing to take a nap today. What's that all about huh?? 

Smiled at: The fact that Brooklynn loves to look out the window and point out all of the different animals and things that she can see. She spends a lot of time does this. She is a really smart little girl.

That made me laugh: The way that ANY time music plays Brooklynn starts busting out dancing. It is hilarious. Girl's got moves!

Well I hope you all enjoyed my first "the last thing thursday"!

play dates with jersey

Last week when B and I were in California we got to have not one but TWO play dates with Shauny and Jersey. It was so much fun since the last time we got together was when Brooke and Jersey were like 7 months and I think Jersey was like 5 months. It was fun to watch them run around together. And I loved having time to catch up with Shauny. I seriously love talking to her! We had so much fun!
