The Hunger Games

So this book "The Hunger Games" every one is talking about. I keep hearing out it is just absolutely amazing and that it's better than Twilight. So, after going to 2 different stores I finally found the book and I am going to start reading it tonight.. I'll let you know what I think very soon!

Bees Game

Tonight Curtis and I went to the Bees Baseball Game with Jim and Hailey. It was really fun but the game was going REALLY slow so we ended up leaving early. The tickets were only $3 each so we didn't feel too bad leaving early. It was nice to get out before we had to head home so Curtis could do him homework. Homework is important! :)

Finally a decent picture of Curtis and Me while being pregnant. Yay!

I thought the mountains looked pretty, I missed them this summer.

Lately...

Curtis and I have our new apartment now and he has started school back up at the University of Utah.  We are slowly but surely getting our apartment put together. As soon as it’s all done I promise I will post pictures. I really like it a lot. It is SO MUCH better than where we were living before. It’s two stories so it gives it more of a home feel rather than an apartment feel. It’s the perfect place for us to start our little family. This is the first place that we have lived alone since we got married so it makes setting up our apartment so much more fun. We have our wedding pictures up and everything.

We’ve got all our grocery shopping done. Our cupboards and fridge are full. I love cooking dinner with Curtis even when we don’t end up making dinner until 1030pm like tonight. Our kitchen is really cute thanks to my mom. She got us a lot of matching things for our kitchen including a big jar full of snickers for Curtis. And boy was he happy about that. The theme of our kitchen is green. That’s also the theme of our room. Which made the theme of Brooklynn’s room pink and green. Everything is matching and making it feel more like home.

Curtis is in the process of evicting a tenant from the house. The kid has not paid his rent for 2 months and feels he still deserves to live in the house. Curtis gave him the option to leave without having to pay or have any penalties at all but he still refuses to leave, which leaves Curtis with no other option that to legally evict him. It’s a long and annoying process but it will eventually lead to a cop coming to the house and physically kicking him out of the house and basically destroying his credit because he clearly cannot pay. Curtis told him that this was going to happen but he thinks that Curtis is just trying to scare him out of the house. It’s sad that he wouldn’t take Curtis’ offer for him just to leave and not pay. I feel like that’s a pretty good deal. But he chose to stay so oh well. We finally have some good people moving into the house, which makes Curtis and I feel much better knowing that the house will be in good hands while we are not there. But it is nice that we only live a few blocks away and can check up on the place whenever we want.

Hmm.. that’s all for now I suppose.

Zooey Deschanel

In the summer in Salt Lake City they have a free concert every thursday night. Usually, I don't know the bands that are playing or have any interest in them. But this past thursday She and Him played. The she is Zooey Deschanel. She was in 500 Days of Summer and lots of other things. She is so freakin cute! We were really excited to see her play. She was so good. However, we had to leave after a few songs because my pregnant feet couldn't stand in that huge hot crowd any longer! But it was fun while it lasted! And it's always fun to hang out with friends!

cuuute

notice my extremely swollen hands... yuck.

I HATE this picture of me but Curtis likes his funny face.

Yuuummm!!

I love that Curtis enjoys cooking. I love cooking dinner for him but it's nice that he enjoys it too! Tonight he made us some delicious cheeseburgers! They were good enough to document! I love Curtis! :)

Yay for Baby Gear!

The other night Curtis and I decided to put together the bouncer seat, swing, and stroller. Well, we decided that Curtis would put them together! haha. It was really fun and it got us that much more excited for our baby Brooklynn to get here!

I am so lucky to have a strong handy husband! You might be thinking, aren't you having a girl? where is the pink? We though it would be better to go neutral for the bouncer seat and swing so we could use it for the next baby in case it's a boy. And for the stroller we have a really cute cover that is pink! And trust me.. we have a LOT of pink. You just don't see it here. :)

Baby Shower - Utah!

On Saturday I had a baby shower in Utah! It was so much fun! There were a lot of really great people there! A great combination of family and friends! We had CPK salad and pizza, and some really cute cookies for desert! We got some really cute stuff for baby Brooklynn. This girl is so spoiled! In the pictures there is one of a baby bassinet that my mom and grandma put together and it turned out amazing! I'll post better pictures of it later because the top part isn't on at the moment but my mom and grandma are amazing! Thanks!

Aquarium!

Last tuesday while my parents went to the Temple for my cousins wedding I watched my nephews, Gavin and Collin. We decided that we wanted to get lunch at Noodles and go to the Aquarium! So we thought we would give Courtney and Reagan a call and see if they wanted to meet up with us! They did and it was so much fun! My Gavin and Collin loved playing with Reagan and it was so great to catch up with Courtney! Here are some cute photos of the kids!

It was a great day! :)

Back in Utah

I am back in Utah and boy is it weird! I feel all out of sorts! My parents and my two nephews Gavin and Collin are in town so that is nice. I'm staying at my grandparents house with them this week because I don't want to stay at our scary empty apartment! Curtis gets back next weekend and that will  make things feel more normal around here but for now things feel weird. Not to mention my cars AC is not working which is not cool when it's 95 degrees outside! I hate it! I miss CA! The heat is making me swell like a balloon! Boo! I'm ready for winter.. wait, did I just say that? Whoa.

Pageant of the Masters

For those of you who do not know what Pageant of the Masters is, it's 90 minutes of art re-creations of classical and contemporary works with real people posing to look exactly like their counterparts in the original pieces. It's in an out door amphitheater, an original score performed by a live professional orchestra, live narration, amazing sets, incredible lighting, expert staff, and over 700 volunteers to make the show something you have to see at least once in your lifetime.

I was in the show for about 6 years of my life and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life. My whole family was involved so every summer 7 days on then 7 days off my family headed on down to Laguna Beach to do the show. Here is a photo that has been on the Pageant of the Masters website for years that is actually me. If you look closely at the face of the girl in the blue dress you can tell that it's me. :)

Last night my mom and I were able to go see the show this year! It was amazing! The theme was "Eat, Drink, and by Merry". There were a lot of fun surprises in the show. I even found out that the conductor of the orchestra for the past 2 years including this year is now my old choir director from high school John Elg! That was very exciting to see him! It was a great night out with my Mom and I loved the show! Seriously, if you ever get the chance to see the show, I highly recommend it!

Me and my Mom! :)

Baby Shower!!

On Saturday morning my mom and my sisters threw me a baby shower! It was so much fun and we had a great turn out! We had some great food, played some fun games, and Brooklynn got a lot of really cute stuff!! My mom is so good at decorating and doing things like this it's no wonder it turned out this good! So thanks mom, Ashley, and Janice for a great shower!

We had a bottle chugging contest! Nicole won!

We played a game where my sister put different candy bars melted and smeared in diapers and everyone had to guess what the candy bar was! it was pretty hilarious! We also played guess the celebrity baby where Ashley cut out celebrities faces and put them on baby bodies and you had to guess who the celebrity was. They were great games! So much fun!

Ashley and Nicole's baby Carter!

Today.

Today I have decided to start packing and get ready to head on back to Utah! I can't believe I'll be back in Utah next Saturday! I am SO very excited to go back to Utah and finally after 4 LONG months be reunited with Curtis! But, it will be sad too. I have had a great time spending so much time with my family. It has been a really long time since I have spent this much time at home and I have to say I didn't hate it. My family is crazy but they made me who I am today. I've loved spending lots of time with my 4 amazing nephews! They are the light of my life and I love them so much! I am really going to miss them when I go back to Utah! The rest of my family is pretty great too. :) And not to mention how much my mom spoils me when I am home! I definitely am going to miss that!! She has done a great job taking care of me while I've been here and I love her for that very much! She truly in an incredible mom! I am going to miss going to the movies with my parents and their friends! Some of the best times I have had at home where the time I spent hanging out with my parents, and if you knew me when I was younger you might have just about fallen over when you read that, but it's true! They are so much fun! I am also going to miss my friends here as well!
Man, well back to my point, today I have been hard core packing and organizing! I can't believe how much stuff I have accumulated over the summer! I pretty much have a whole new wardrobe which was needed since none of my old clothes fit me any more! Being pregnant will do that to ya! Then there is the cook books and the kitchen stuff I have gotten as well. I'm not even going to get started on the amount of baby stuff I have started to collect... and I am going to have MUCH more by the time I leave for Utah next week! I feel like you can never have too much baby stuff.. although Curtis might disagree with me on that one. haha.
Lets just say that as I am packing today I have realized how truly blessed I am and I am very thankful for that. But, now I must get back to it or i'll stop! I just wanted to blog about how I was feeling at the moment!

OH! And guess what people!? I've hit 30 weeks! That's huge! Only 10 more weeks to go and my sweet angel will be here! AHH I can't wait!!!

BYE!

August 1st!!!!

I can't believe it! It's August 1st!
That means...
I'LL BE BACK WITH CURTIS IN EXACTLY 3 WEEKS FROM TODAY!!
That is really great news! I have not seen him for 3 months and I miss him more then I can explain to all of you! These next 3 weeks are going to go very slow for me I just know it, but it's so close!! I head back to Utah with my parents in a little less than 2 weeks so I'll be back in Utah before Curtis. We are going out there for my cousins wedding and my dad has that week off so whenever my parents get the chance they like to go out there and help out my grandparents! So hopefully since I haven't seen anyone in Utah for a long time that, last week will go by quickly catching up with friends before Curtis gets back! He hasn't been able to feel the baby move yet so before he gets home I'm going to have to drink some orange juice or something to make sure he can feel her right away.. although I think that with all my adrenaline pumping through me from being so excited I'm pretty sure she'll have no choice but to start moving around! haha. So I pretty much cant wait for August 22nd, when Brooklynn and I will finally be reunited with Curtis.
It will be a great day! :)
