All Good Things Must Come To An End

After spending over a week here in California with my family it is time for me to pack up and get ready to head on back to Utah. Curtis was away for work this past week so Brooklynn and I stayed here. It has been so nice to be in the warm weather. Brooklynn wore shorts for the first time ever! And I LOVED it! I am so tired of the cold. But I guess we better get back to reality.
I love being home. Although, this week pretty much everyone in my family has been really sick. Since Brooklynn and I already dealt with that we stayed away from the sick people.
Sick babies are NO FUN. It was sad not getting to spend time with my sister and nephews. We were so close yet so far. But luckily we will be back in a little over a month!
Hopefully, everyone will be better by then!
Remember how I said sick babies are NO FUN? Well, turns out my being careful to not get Brooklynn sick once again may have failed. She has not been feeling herself today and I REALLY hope she is not sick again. She is getting so big! She no longer likes to have her arms swaddled up while she sleeps anymore. They are not free to move about when she sleeps. It makes her look so much older to me for some reason. I can't believe how fast she is growing.
Pray she's not sick again! We have an 8am flight and I have a feeling she's not going to like it. I've had such great luck flying with her before. Lets hope my luck has not run out.
Looks like this blog post ended up being me just ranting a little so i'll leave you all now.
I am not looking forward to going back to Utah but it will be nice to be reunited with Curtis.
We have missed him.

Meet me in St. Louis!

Every summer for the past 5 years Curtis has being going somewhere different in the Country to run an office of technicians who install alarm systems for APX Alarm. Last summer since I was pregnant and my insurance only covered me in California I did not go with him but this summer Brooklynn and I will be joining him on this crazy APX adventure!
Today we found out where we were going and the winner is..
ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI!

I never thought I would live in St. Louis but I have to admit that I'm pretty excited. I am excited to live somewhere new. I have only lived in California and Utah. I haven't traveled much either. So this is going to be an adventure!

Now, what does one do in St. Louis?
Here are a few things I look forward to doing this summer..

-- Ride to the top of the Gateway-Arch over the Mississippi River
-- The Saint Louis Zoo
-- Missouri Botanical Garden
-- Magic House & City Museum
-- The Museum of Transportation
-- See a show at the Fabulous Fox Theatre
-- The Science Center
-- Six Flags St. Louis
-- Forest Parks 1,300 achers of lakes, walking paths, and attractions
-- and of course the SHOPPING!

Brooklynn and I are also going to enroll in a parent/child class at The Little Gym this summer! Hopefully we'll be able to meet some other mommies to hang out with!

Overall I am really looking forward to this summer of swimming and lots of fun activities! I love being a stay at home mom, but this summer we I am going to be an out-n-about mom with Brooklynn so she can see the world! Poor Curtis will have to be working. But B and I are going to have a blast!

Baby Blessing and In-Laws

This past Sunday my nephew Jackson was blessed. It was a big family event! My mother-in-law and father-in-law flew in along with my little bro-in-law Keaton. Zach and Marilyn came in from Cedar City! Everyone on the Duty side was here except for Josh and he was very missed! I still have yet to meet him, but I look forward to it!

Here are some photos from Sunday. It was a great day!

this is Curtis telling Reagan that this pillow pet was his.
She set him straight!

It was so much fun having my in-laws here for a week. They are incredible people! I was so happy that they finally got to meet Brooklynn and I look forward to spending a lot more time with them. I am so grateful that they are such great people. I hear people talk about how they don't like their in-laws and that is definitely NOT the case here. I absolutely LOVE them! I feel like I have been in the family forever! They make me feel so comfortable! It's so much fun having more brothers and sisters.
To Mother and Father Duty: Thanks so much for all that you have done for me! You guys are truly amazing and I love you so much!

New Years Resolutions

My New Years Resolutions:

  • get back to my pre-pregnancy weight
  • read the entire book of mormon & bible
  • be the best mother & wife I could possibly be
  • try to become an extremely positive person and always see the best in things (like nicole cisneros)
  • go to the gym at least 3 times a week
  • dance more
  • spend as much time with my family as possible
  • go on a vacation
  • get my sweet baby girl on a good schedule
I have many more I know, but it's late and I'm tired.
But bring on 2011, It's going to be an amazing year I just know it!
I mean, my baby girl will be 1 this year! haha
So I end this blog post with two cute photo's of my 2 favorite people in the world!!

New Years Eve 2010

New Years Eve was great! My in-laws are in town and we've been having a grand old time! We played a board game called Ticket to Ride which I am the ONLY person who has not won. haha. That's okay though, it's a really fun game. We went to Temple Square to see the lights since it was the last night that they had them lit. It was beautiful, but extremely cold. After we went back to Courtney's house and played a new game called Catch 22. It was pretty fun the first round but then the second round last about 2 hours and we ended up just quitting. The new year snuck up on us and the 2011 began. I kissed my sweet husband and perfect baby girl. What more could I ask for? I am so thankful that my in-laws were able to make it out here and I have been having a blast getting to know them better. I love them so much!!
Happy New Year, everyone!

 cute cousins :-)

Christmas Day

Christmas day was great as usual. We woke up and did our stocking and santa gifts. Curtis and I got a new vacuum which was much needed and Brookie got a cute infant play gym. Then we were off to Jan and Kris' to watch my nephews open their presents. We then had amazing scones for breakfast, then back to my parents house to open the rest of our gifts. My mom ALWAYS goes overboard with gifts. She's incredible. We ended the craziness with paninis for lunch! YUM! I love Christmas day so much and it was even more fun this year sharing it with Curtis and Brooklynn. Brooklynn loved her first Christmas! It's going to be crazy next year to have her running around! I can't wait!

This was Brooklynn's face after I told her she had to wait to open her present. hahahaha!
